Important news folks,
If you have student loans, the Student Loan program as you know it is ending as June 30, 2006. The new program will have higher rates. You do have the opportunity to consolidate all of your existing loans. Contact http://www.loanconsolidation.ed.gov/borrower/borrower.shtml to see if you would benefit from consolidation. You can also call them at 1-800-557-7392.
I just heard this information on the Clark Howard Radio Show, if you have towing reimbursement with your auto insurance company they can use this information to raise your rates should you take advantage of it. The recommendation is to buy this service from AAA or Costco/BJs Wholesale/Walmart.
Pretty disturbing that they would raise your insurance rate for using their service but it doesn't surprise me.
Hurricane Season is upon us, You might want to contact the Flood Insurance folks. Katrina showed us what can happen to those that are ill-prepared. Now is the time to get a few extra cases of drinking water and a couple of boxes of pop tarts. Pop Tarts you laugh, thats right pop tarts. Read the news. You should also think of things such as a tube of Neosporin, bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide, Band-Aids, Diarrhea Control Medicine Etc. Please don't get caught flat footed expecting the government to help you. You first duty to yourself and your family is to make reasonable provisions.
