Lawrence Arrington "Boogie" Wilhoite, 64, of Greensboro, N.C., formerly of Culpeper County, died August 11, 2006 at Moses Cone Hospital, Yanceyville, NC. He was the son of the late Lawrence O. Wilhoite and Pauline Price Wilhoite of Rapidan. Besides his wife, Mrs. Julia Thompson Wilhoite, he is survived by a step-son, Shannon DeChaine Harris of Los Angeles, CA; four aunts, Pearl Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA, Pamela Wilhoite Stroman (Dave) and N. Ester Wilhoite, both of Washington, DC, Victoria Allen (Alexander) of Blanch, NC. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 16 from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlngton, NC. At other times the family will receive visitors at the home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 16, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Rapidan, with the Rev. Clarence Burke officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
